Tchaikovsky Spectacular

Went to the Pacific Symphony's final summer concert on Saturday.

An all-Russian concert ending with Tchaikovsky's 1812, we always look forward to this concert to close each year's summer.  :)

I had to pull up the two kids and our dinner up to the lawn seats.

(Monyo helped push the wagon up the last climb.)

Check one, the professionals setting up the fireworks.

Check two, The canons.

Check three, dinner, we are so ready!  :)

Music director Carl St.Clair conducted with Olga Kern at the piano.

We got a hot tip from Carl, they will be performing here next year as well!

Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky:  Introduction and Waltz from The Sleeping Beauty
Igor Stravinsky:  Suite from The Firebird
Sergei Rachmaninoff:  Concerto No. 2 in C Minor for Piano and Orchestra, Op. 18
Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky:  1812 Overture, Op. 49, TH 49

After the concert, we watched Ormie to wait for the firework site to clear.

The kids didn't make it to the end...

They still fit nicely in the wagon.  :)
