Organ Splendor

We went to a dress rehearsal of this week's Pacific Symphony concert!

The Saturday performance will broadcast on KUSC on Sunday, March 13 at 7 PM (PST).

Listen to Alan Chapman's preview on SoundCloud.

They are also going to be playing on Sunday at 3 PM, same place, along with two more organists.

It was a real privilege to hear a world premiere before the public.  :)

If you like contemporary classical music, this piece is for you.  If you are a more "classic" classical music lover, the Lauridsen piece will surely get you nice and relaxed.

I'm just going to say that the Pilgrim’s Hymn was a totally different experience.  You'll have to see for yourself.

I can't wait to hear it again on Saturday!!  :)

Carl St.Clair will conduct with the Pacific Chorale.

Wayne Oquin:  Resilience for Organ and Orchestra (World Premiere) (Paul Jacobs, organ)
Morten Lauridsen:  Lux Aeterna  (Christoph Bull, organ)
William Bolcom:  Humoresk for Organ and Orchestra (Christoph Bull, organ)
Stephen Paulus:  Pilgrim’s Hymn
Stephen Paulus:  Concerto No. 4 (Paul Jacobs, organ)
